The ICAR-Indian Institute of Natural Resins & Gums, Ranchi, Jharkhand organized the “9th Annual Review Workshop of All India Network Project on Conservation of Lac Insect Genetic Resources” today.
In his inaugural address, the Chief Guest, Dr. S.N. Jha, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Engineering), ICAR highlighted the importance of conserving the indigenous natural resources like lac insects of the nation. The DDG stressed on completing the survey for natural lac insect population of the country by giving momentum to the work. He also urged the Scientists for exploring the ways of production of lac resin by lac insects without the host plants.
The Guest of Honor, Dr. K.K. Singh, ADG (Farm Engineering), ICAR emphasized on aligning the Project with the national and global trends during the coming plan period.
Earlier, delivering the welcome address, Dr. K.K. Sharma, Director, ICAR-IINRG & Project Coordinator AINP-CLIGR underlined the annual progress for the Year - 2021.
Around 51 participants from 11 Centres deliberated in the Workshop.
