The “7th Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on “Designing E-Learning Content” organized by the ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad from 1st to 31st July, 2020 concluded today.
The Chief Guest of the valedictory function, Dr. R.C. Agrawal, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Education), ICAR emphasized on the need for alignment of the agricultural education with the New Education Policy of the Government of India. The Deputy Director General appreciated the Academy for its proactive role in e-content development, organization of virtual courses and bringing out the policy documents in the wake of COVID - 19 Pandemic.
Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM highlighted the need for development of tangible action plans for addressing the digital needs of the country, especially, agricultural universities.
Earlier, Dr. G.R.K. Murthy, Programme Coordinator highlighted the journey of MOOC and indicated about 93% of the participants were from agriculture & allied sciences and the remaining from other the non-agricultural streams, representing pan India.
The programme emphasized on Instructional Design and Development, Lesson Planning and Story Boarding, etc. The programme contents and delivery mode adopted for the virtual training provided the insights for developing the e-contents.
Around 2,773 participants participated in the MOOC programme.
