“The Institute should conduct all the training programmes in hybrid mode for enabling the farmers residing at distant places to attend the programmes in virtual mode and reap the benefits of training by increasing their farm income”, urged Shri Durga Shankar Mishra, Chief Secretary, Uttar Pradesh. Shri Mishra was on his visit to the ICAR-Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research and its Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh today.
The Chief Secretary was accompanied by Shri Devesh Chaturvedi, Additional Chief Secretary (Agriculture), Government of Uttar Pradesh.
Shri Mishra advised the Scientists upload the Videos of the Institute's various technologies and Success Stories of the Progressive Farmers on the various Social Media Platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp and YouTube, etc. This, he stressed, would encourage the fellow farmers too for achieving the same success in their lives also.
He visited the Institute's Farm Machinery Bank, Nursery Raising Unit, Vermi-compost, Dairy Unit, Vegetables Demonstration Unit, Nutrition Garden, Roof Top Gardening, Bee Keeping Unit, Mushroom Production Unit and Exhibition, etc. The Chief Secretary was also apprised about the Sites of Integrated Farming System Trial and Jaggery Unit of the Institute.
Earlier, welcoming the dignitaries, Dr. A.D. Pathak, Director, ICAR-IISR, Lucknow underlined the Institute's R&D achievements.
Dr. A.K. Dubey, Head, KVK, ICAR-IISR, Lucknow along with the Senior Officials of the State Departments of Government of Uttar Pradesh and ICAR Institutes also participated in the event.
