The ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh in collaboration with the ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone - IX, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh organized the “Virtual Interface Meeting with KVK Scientists for Recent Advances in Farm Mechanization and Value-Addition in Agriculture” for the KVK Scientists and other Stakeholders of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh today.
In his inaugural address, Dr. C.R. Mehta, Director, ICAR-CIAE, Bhopal emphasized on popularizing the cost-effective farm machineries developed by the Institute among the farming community through the Custom Hiring basis in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to reduce the cost of cultivation and enhance the farm income. Dr. Mehta also advised the KVK Scientists for promoting the technologies through the Custom Hiring mode besides, encouraging the farmers for Entrepreneurship development and promoting the Straw Combine Harvester, Straw Mulcher and Straw Bailer Implements for proper crop residue management.
The senior officials of ICAR Institutes and State Agricultural Universities along with 130 participants from the KVKs including the senior officials from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, NGOs and FPOs participated in the meeting.
The Interface Meeting was organized as a part of the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence.
