The Virtual MDP on “Formation of FPO / FPC and Preparing its Business Plan” organized by the ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research, Hyderabad from 17th to 24th August, 2021 concluded today.
In his valedictory address, the Chief Guest, Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension), ICAR highlighted the Government’s various initiatives for the FPOs and alignment of priorities for the KVKs along these initiatives in the interest of the smallholder farmers.
Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad urged the participants for utilizing their learning for promoting the FPOs under their KVKs.
Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Jodhpur, Rajasthan outlined about the Krishi Vigyan Kendras that are in active stage of FPO formation with the support of NCDC under the Central Sector Scheme.
The various aspects of FPO - right from mobilization of farmers, FPO formation & registration, and all aspects of business plan development for FPOs, including operational, marketing and financial plans were discussed during the programme. The participants were apprised about the different regulatory compliances needed for the Producers’ Companies.
A total of 66 participants from ICAR, State Agricultural Universities and NGOs supported KVKs virtually participated in the programme.
