Workshop of the AMAAS Projects – 2015

dmramaas-23022015.jpgThe Workshop of the Application of Microorganisms in Agriculture and Allied Sectors (AMAAS) Projects was organized at the NASC Complex, New Delhi by ICAR-National Bureau of Agriculturally Important Micro-organisms, Mau during 22_23rd January, 2015.

Dr. S. Ayyappan, Secretary, DARE & Director General ICAR, Dr. Swapan K. Datta, Deputy Director General (CS), ICAR, Dr. P. K. Chakraborty, Assistant Director General (PP), ICAR and Dr. Arun K. Sharma, Director & Network Coordinator, AMAAS ICAR-NBAIM, Mau conducted the workshop.

The inaugural session was chaired by Dr. Ayyappan in which he outlined the objectives and expectations from this AMAAS projects. He has emphasized to give significant output in terms of product(s) to benefit the farmers working in the field.

Two publications namely ‘Scientists’ Profile’ at ICAR-NBAIM, Mau and ‘Profile of National Agriculturally Important Microbial Culture Collection (NAIMCC)’ at ICAR-NBAIM, Mau was released on this occasion.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Dr. Arun K. Sharma, Director, ICAR-NBAIM, Mau and Dr. Manjit Singh, Director, ICAR-DMR, Solan and counter signed by Dr. Swapan K. Datta and Dr. N.K. Krishna Kumar, Deputy Director General (HS), ICAR, in the presence of DG, ICAR to develop ICAR-DMR as a node of NAIMCC for long-term preservation of macrofungi procured from ICAR-DMR.

This workshop was conducted in four sessions in which research progress of more than 50 projects were presented by the Principal investigators/Co-Principal Investigators before the review panel.
