29th - 31st July 2024, Port Blair

Regional Station, Minicoy, ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Port Blair, organised a sensitization programme on livelihood augmentation through diversification of fishing technologies & input distribution under STC for the welfare of fishermen of Minicoy from 29th to 31th July 2024.

Dr. Eaknath B. Chakurkar, Director, ICAR-CIARI, graced the occasion.

The scientific team visited the nearby villages to sensitize the local fishermen towards livelihood augmentation through the diversification of fishing technologies.

Fishing kits (Kollamas, nylon mono-line, lead, Popper, lure) were distributed to the 14 selected artisanal fishermen of Minicoy.

A total of 23 participants attended the input and distribution programme.
