ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Khordha, ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar, is working towards the development of the farming community of Khordha district in agriculture and allied sectors. As a part of this SCSP scheme, a training programme on the integrated farming system was organized for the farmers/farm and farmwomen at ICAR-KVK-Khordha today.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Pramoda Kumar Sahoo, Director, ICAR-CIFA, emphasised promoting an integrated farming system for enhancing farm income and providing nutritional security among the farm families of the Khordha district of Odisha. He also urged the farmers and farm women to adopt the scientific package and practices of technology for enhancing the production and productivity of the crops. Dr. Sahoo distributed agri-inputs to the SHG women during the programme.
Dr. Harapriya Nayak, Senior Scientist and Head of KVK-Khordha, ICAR-CIFA was also present on the occasion.
The trainees participated in a drone aquaculture demonstration, which included the distribution of agricultural inputs, Azolla cultivation for backyard poultry, community fish culture, mushroom cultivation, and finger millet cultivation among women in SHG and SC farming communities.
