ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad organized a 5-day Training Programme on “Developing competency in Econometrics” from 22nd to 26th July, 2024. The programme aimed to strengthen the theoretical fundamentals of the researchers and academician and expose them to wide range of Econometric techniques like ridge regression, stepwise regression, structural break-chow test, Just-Pope model, impact assessment techniques like difference in difference method, PSM, economic surplus model.
Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM in his valedictory address emphasized the significance of econometric tools in conducting cutting-edge research in areas such as impact assessment of technologies, movement of commodity prices and other relevant economic research areas. He also urged the participants to keep learning of econometrics so that they can do meaningful research to come out with valuable insights for agricultural policies.
Participants were exposed to various open source Econometric software and hands-on sessions for analysis of data using Strata and Tableau Public.
A total of 26 participants attended the training programme.
