ICAR–Mahatma Gandhi Integrated Farming Research Institute, Motihari, Bihar, organised a farmer awareness and field interaction programme under Khet Bachao Abhiyan 2026 at Kothia Hariram village, Mehsi Block, East Champaran, today. The programme focused on promoting judicious fertilizer use, soil health management, nutrient recycling, crop diversification and sustainable management of mango and litchi orchards.

The programme under Khet Bachao Abhiyan 2026 emphasized soil-test-based nutrient management, balanced fertilization and sustainable orchard management to enhance mango and litchi productivity while maintaining long-term soil fertility. Farmers were sensitized to the importance of recycling organic resources such as crop residues, fallen leaves, farmyard manure and compost, along with the judicious use of mineral fertilizers.
