Vision

            Healthy and resilient agro-ecosystems through sustainable management of soil, water and agrobiodiversity, ensuring resource-efficient agricultural production, climate resilience, environmental sustainability and livelihood security for future generations.

Mission

            To advance basic, strategic and applied research for conservation, restoration and efficient utilization of natural resources; develop climate-smart, location-specific and nature-positive technologies; and strengthen sustainable agricultural productivity, resource-use efficiency and ecosystem resilience.

Mandate

            To undertake basic, strategic and applied research on soil, water, climate and agrobiodiversity management; develop location-specific, cost-effective and eco-friendly technologies for sustainable agricultural production; assess, map and monitor natural resources through advanced digital tools; promote climate-resilient and integrated farming systems; and support technology dissemination, capacity building and evidence-based policy formulation for sustainable resource management.
