ICAR-ATARI Kanpur Organizes Cleanliness Awareness Drive under 'Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign 2026'

ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone-III, Kanpur organized a cleanliness awareness drive under the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign 2026’ today in the vicinity of the Institute in Kanpur. On the occasion, the scientists, officers and staff of the Institute took the cleanliness pledge, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining cleanliness.

As part of the campaign, scientists, officers and staff of ICAR-ATARI Kanpur, under the leadership of Dr Raghwendra Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Kanpur interacted with local residents and shopkeepers in the surrounding area of the Institute and sensitized them about the importance of cleanliness, proper waste disposal and maintaining hygiene in public spaces. ICAR-ATARI Kanpur also appealed to the local community to actively participate in cleanliness initiatives and contribute towards creating a cleaner and healthier environment.

The ATARI Kanpur team informed local residents that the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign 2026’ is being observed from 17 September to 2 October 2026, during which various cleanliness and awareness activities are being undertaken across the country. The awareness drive emphasized that cleanliness is not only a collective responsibility but also an essential part of maintaining a healthy and sustainable community. The team encouraged local residents and shopkeepers to adopt responsible waste management practices and make cleanliness a regular habit in their daily lives.

During the interaction, Dr Raghwendra Singh highlighted the importance of collective efforts and public participation in maintaining cleanliness and promoting a healthy environment. He emphasized that active involvement of the community is essential for ensuring sustainable cleanliness and creating a healthier living environment.
