ICAR-IISWC, Research Centre, Udhagamandalam Organizes Cleanliness Drive at Ooty Boat House under the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 Campaign

As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva – 2026 campaign, ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Research Centre, Udhagamandalam organized a cleanliness drive under the theme “Clean Public Places” today at the Boat House, Ooty, The Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu. The programme was organized to raise awareness and demonstrate commitment towards cleanliness and sanitation at a prominent high-footfall tourist location.

During the programme, participants were sensitized to the importance of maintaining hygienic public spaces, particularly in tourist locations. Emphasis was also placed on the principles of Refuse, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, encouraging responsible practices for effective waste reduction and management.

Following the address, 32 participants actively took part in cleaning the public area in and around the Boat House. Litter and other waste materials scattered in the area were collected and removed. The drive demonstrated collective responsibility towards maintaining clean, hygienic and litter-free public places.
