Report on Campaign for Balanced Use of Fertilizers under ICAR-ATARI Zone X, Hyderabad

Under the intensive awareness campaign conducted today by 8 KVKs under ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone X, Hyderabad, a total of 3 awareness programmes were organized covering 89 farmers across major DAP consuming districts. In addition, 4 training programmes benefited 224 farmers.

Demonstrations on Green Manuring and Bio-fertilizers were also conducted for promoting sustainable nutrient management practices among farmers. Altogether, 375 farmers were reached through direct physical contact and interactions at KVKs.

The campaign also achieved extensive digital outreach through WhatsApp, Facebook, X and other social media platforms, reaching 49,216 farmers and stakeholders, resulting in a cumulative outreach of 49,591 beneficiaries. The campaign effectively promoted awareness on balanced fertilizer use, sustainable agricultural practices and farmer engagement across the region.

Under the intensive awareness campaign conducted on 27.05.2026 by 72 KVKs under ICAR–ATARI Zone X, Hyderabad, a total of 3 awareness programmes were organized covering 89 farmers across the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. In addition, 4 training programmes benefited 224 farmers, while demonstrations on Green Manuring and Bio-fertilizers were conducted to promote balanced and sustainable fertilizer use among farming communities.

The campaign also included interface meetings and outreach activities involving farmers and stakeholders. Altogether, 693 farmers were reached through direct physical contact, including 63 farmers who visited KVKs and interacted with scientists and experts.

Further, extensive digital outreach was achieved through WhatsApp, Facebook, X and other social media platforms, reaching 49,877 farmers and stakeholders, resulting in a cumulative outreach of 50,284 beneficiaries. The campaign effectively created awareness on balanced fertilizer use, integrated nutrient management and sustainable agricultural practices across the region.
