Off-Campus Training Programmes Organised at AICRP on Floriculture (NEH), Kahikuchi Centre, Assam

The AICRP on Floriculture (NEH), Kahikuchi Centre, Assam successfully organized two off-campus training programmes namely “Post-Harvest Management and Value Addition in Commercial Flowers” on 3 June 2026 at KVK, Morigaon District and “Harnessing Organic Resources for Sustainable Floriculture” on 12 June 2026 at Jugdal, Sonapur of Assam State.

The major objectives of these programmes were to empower women with floriculture as an income-generating enterprise and to promote the effective utilization of organic resources to maintain soil health, ensure environmental sustainability, and enhance economic profitability.

More than 50 male and female farmers participated in each programme. The training sessions covered various aspects of commercial flower cultivation, post-harvest management, value addition, organic nutrient management, composting, and sustainable production practices which enhanced the awareness, skill and technical knowledge of participating farmers in the above areas.
